    Family Security Matters

About Us: FSM is dedicated to men and women who are seeking answers to the most important question of our time: How to keep our families and our country safe and secure. Here you can find the vital information , the understanding and the solutions you need to conquer fear and combat the enemies who threaten our freedom!

Some goon over there named Philip Atkinson wrote a paper about why we should have nuked Iraq, why we should make Bush a dictator, and why the people of this country aren't smart enough to make decisions for themselves. Evidently the paper was quickly taken down by the site, but it's been re-printed all over.

The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead. Then there would be little risk or expense and no American army would be left exposed. But if he did this, his cowardly electorate would have instantly ended his term of office, if not his freedom or his life.

And here is Atkinson's "Theory of Civilization" which includes the following deep insights:

A Civilization is a community which imposes its beliefs upon all other communities by violence.

The condition of selfish or unselfishness of a citizen is decided by the experiences of infancy, which is when the foundations of understanding (morality) are established.

Organizations that attempt to represent a group of different cultures, such as the United Nations, cannot resolve cultural clashes and must fail.

And finally, an odd end note. Evidently Kevin Barrett wants this guy on his show. In the following message he very awkwardly contrasts himself with Atkinson.

Bloody hell. These people are insane, desperate or both.

Mind he's "not wrong" about this bit:

A Civilization is a community which imposes its beliefs upon all other communities by violence.

That has been the history of civilized(city dwelling people) for most of recorded history on account of the power mongering imperialists driving civilization as we know it.

But archeology(and common sense) shows that's not the ONLY way people can live in communities.

Its like he's got fragments of facts/truths but puts them together madly.

“He could then follow Caesar's example and use his newfound popularity with the military to wield military power to become the first permanent president of America, and end the civil chaos caused by the continually squabbling Congress and the out-of-control Supreme Court. President Bush can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming ‘ex-president’ Bush or he can become ‘President-for-Life’ Bush: the conqueror of Iraq, who brings sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court. Then who would be able to stop Bush from emulating Augustus Caesar and becoming ruler of the world? For only an America united under one ruler has the power to save humanity from the threat of a new Dark Age wrought by terrorists armed with nuclear weapons."

This embarrassing article was quickly deleted, presumably over negative feedback.

Blogger Mark Parent connects the dots:

“Well, it turns out that "Family Security Matters (FSM) is a front group for the Center for Security Policy (CSP), a conservative Washington think tank ‘committed to the time-tested philosophy of promoting international peace through American strength.’ (The phone number listed on the FSM website is answered by the CSP.) So now we are led to the Center for Security Policy, and who's connected to that group? Dick Cheney, Vice President of the U.S. under George W. Bush, was an early member of Center's Board of Advisors (which is now called the National Security Advisory Council).”

A screenshot of the site before they pulled the article (via the google cache I think) was posted to Indymedia at the time: http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2007/08/379647.html

And Taking Aim did a show on it: "Dictatorship and the Dysfunctional Capitalist State, Part Three: The Totalitarian Logic of Imperialism"

It reminds me the the classic trick the management played every year when I worked at a place that made cuts every year -- they would announce 2,000 or so compulsory redundancies, then various measures would get it down to 200 or something and the union would declare a "victory"...
