To All Readers: Help Force Congress To Observe the Law on National Emergencies!!! http://911truth.org/article.php?story=200903241830...

Former President Bush declared a State of Emergency on September 14, 2001 and continued it every year since, including in 2008.

Congress apparently has not met its statutory obligations under Section 1622(b) of the National Emergencies Act, which states that: "Not later than six months after a national emergency is declared, and not later than the end of each six-month period thereafter that such emergency continues, each House of Congress shall meet to consider a vote on a joint resolution to determine whether that emergency shall be terminated."

Author, researcher and Berkeley Professor Emeritus Peter Dale Scott, and former Representative Dan Hamburg D-CA have been trying to get answers and so far members of Congress have not responded; now they are asking U.S. Citizens to join in, by requesting information from Congress and the White House:

Will President Obama allow the state of national emergency, first declared by President George W. Bush on 9/14/01 and re-declared seven times, to remain in effect?

Will Congress meet their statutory responsibilities under Section 1622(b) of the National Emergencies Act, and meet to determine whether that emergency shall be terminated?

When will the Houses of Congress meet to consider a vote on this very important issue?

You might also ask- Are Congress, the Executive and the Judiciary operating according to the Constitution, or according to the rules of Continuity of Government?

As a Citizen, you have the Right to a government that follows the Constitution and the Law, and the Right to speak out and demand accountability when they don't. Not that that all, or even any of them will, but if you're a Citizen, love the U.S. Constitution and want to see it upheld, you have a duty to make them aware that they're in violation. Some members of Congress and their staff may actually be unaware of this situation; educate them, and spread the word to the People to do the same.

Some may say there's nothing We the People can do; the corrupt power brokers are too powerful. Public outrage over the Dubai Ports deal caused it to be cancelled, and public outrage over the AIG bonuses caused Congress to do some grandstanding. Opinion makers WANT people to believe our individual and collective voices don't make a difference, so we don't agitate and organize, so we don't hold them accountable.

This was my own post on the subject; see the above link for the letter from Peter Dale Scott and Rep. Dan Hamburg
