So much distraction--Let's get back to the mission...

I'm noticing that almost all our recent discussion is about disinformation and drama in the movement. I think these are important things to address, but how about we try to steer the conversation back to more productive avenues.

    1. When is the next big 9/11 truth protest? We certainly can't wait until 9/11/07...How about a unified march/encampment on DC this spring/summer with a combined message: "End the War, Impeach the criminals, 9/11 Truth, Media Reform, Environmental Responsibility, True Democracy Now.."

    2. We now have some high ranking democrats and even a presidential candidate (Kucinich) who are open to 9/11 truth. Can we push them to actually address this issue?

    3. What is our plan in the event of another false flag attack/martial law, etc. If we are a true resistance, we should have plans for such outcomes. There could be designated meeting places for people to gather and share information.

    4. War with Iran. What do we do if this actually happens? There will be unprecedented massive demonstrations unless this war is preceded by a major "terrorist" incident and a crackdown on civil liberties or wave of fear.

    5. What the hell are we actually doing? We need to be seriously organized. The movement feels so uncohesive, spread out, cynical...what can we do about all this?

The main issue, as I see it, is a distinct lack of leadership. When there is a void of leadership, there is chaos.

The Vietnam era Free Speech Movement had an excellent leader, Mario Savio. There was the music of Joan Baez and Bob Dylan providing an anthemic backdrop. There was also Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, and a handful of others who created a more cohesive national movement.

Leadership and cultural resonance is key.

    Local leadership

Truthmod was taking the initiative, leadership you might say, to propose that we get busy doing things we can do now, without a "leader". The real action in the movement is happening locally, as new groups spring up all across the country.

Very much due to the internet, national coordination of local groups is possible without national figureheads, or umbrella organizations. We may yet come to have such leaders, and theme music, but for now, we need to be a lot more focused on personally taking action in our community, and coordinating with other local groups to hold national events.

So rather than lament what we don't have, let's focus on what we do. And that's a lot of talented and committed people all over the world who are trying to interrupt the Global Dominance Project. We must resist.
