This General Strike for 9/11/07 was the idea of one person here at TruthMove. It was just a suggestion when posted to our forum. As soon as we saw the interest that people we showing in the idea, we decided to put up a website in order to help promote the action. However, at no point was the idea considered by any of us as an opportunity to promote TruthMove. Trying to capitalize on such a broad idea, would actually undermine the collective spirit of the action.
This kind of action can really only be powerful if entirely decentralized. The isn't a TruthMove action, or 9/11 truth movement action, or World Can't Wait action. This is an action in which each of us can address the issues most important to us.
We thought that choosing a color to wear or display might increase the visibility of the action. As World Can't Wait is using the color orange to represent many of the same general themes addressed by the strike, we thought that choosing orange might encourage greater coalition. And it is definitely the most visible color on the street.
If you happen not to be a big fan of World Can't Wait or TruthMove, please don't let a color choice be more important that the themes being addressed. Its far less important than the emergency we all face together.
