The discussion over at 911blogger sure is pathetic

I didn't know it was this bad:

I've been citing the Declaration in response to diversionary reactions and personal attacks in response to the Declaration. : ) That's what it's for.

If the declaration is perceived as a threat against trollish behavior, then of course some are going to be opposed to it. How dare you suggest that they act in a respectful manner towards others! That's... that's divisive!

A suggestion is not the same as a command, although this misinterpretation is also frequently (and likely deliberately) made.

Thankfully, those who have constructive and positive interests of the truth movement will understand that they can be part of the solution by not engaging in the destructive behavior that is frequently encouraged by provocateurs.

TruthAction also had a pretty pathetic reaction to the declaration also. But - i agree with Arabesque that it does seem to be flushing out all the trolls. Their reactions were so transparent that it in fact showed their true colors - and the value of the declaration. It demonstrated for everyone who's who in this struggle for civility.

I do not see any list of signatories anywhere i look. are you publishing names?

The list of "authors and supporters" is in the right column. If you want to be included, just let us know...

I agree, the Declaration sure did make the trolls easy to spot. Seems like they're really infesting 911blogger and truthaction at this point. I think the main objectives of these people are: DEMORALIZATION and DISTRACTION. Please don't let them suck you into extended arguments; ignore them and cite the Declaration instead...

We wrote the declaration in a tree house! My feelings are SO hurt right now.

The approach of many of these people is surprisingly anti-intellectual for supposed skeptics and totally transparent relative to their emotional needs. The self-congratulation without humility is most telling to me. You can sense in their words just how good it makes them feel to say something critical about us, and how much a sense of belonging is being reinforced by the snotty humor of each of their comments.

In the interest of having a bit of objectivity, I would say that Mark may be right that some of the points on our flyer could be written in a manner than would better prevent any ambiguity in their reading. We didn't have room to perfectly clarify and the flyer merely serves as an encouragement to view the website and do further research. But then his criticism is not made in the interest of our accuracy, but because he thinks every single point made by the movement is wrong. We asked him that, and he said that the movement doesn't have one valid point to make. That's not intellectually honest, and so Mark loses intellectual credibility.

As I have mentioned previously, we met an ex-debunker in Union Square not too long ago. She knew Mark and said that she stopped her debunking activities because she realized that Mark and the Randies were just as fanatical as many of the people in the 9/11 truth movement, or in other words, not rational. She said that she had become a debunker because it satisfied an emotional need or hers.

I guess the point is for all of us, don't let your emotional needs cloud your intellectual judgment.
